The design process of this project was quite in depth as mentioned before. In the end, our team had multiple iterations before the final design was presented. Below, we discuss the first iteration of our project, how our team came to that design, and the next steps that followed that design.

To get from our user research to something tangible, we started by developing our persona. Keeping Linda in mind, we began to focus on what her needs were, and how we might address them in this prototype. We identified two main concepts that we wanted to focus on. Primarily, Linda being a busy student and young professional, we focused on speed and ease. The purpose in using a cell phone interface to find a movie is not because other services are not acceptable, it is because the user has no time to use those services. This conclusion resulted from our user research.
We determined the best way to tackle this speed issue was to actually eliminate some choice from the software. If users were unable to make every selection they would normally want to on a large screen with more options, then their process would be forcibly streamlined. We determined through our user research that finding a specific movie or a specific location was the most important aspect of a movie goers experience.
We also chose to focus on Linda's need to connect with her friends. We noticed after researching the other methods that people had used to find a movie, that none of them focused on the connection between people, only on finding the quick and dirty information necessary to make those plans. Our team decided that it was important to include this easy ability to connect with friends in our interface.
With this information, our team developed a prototype wire frame that outlined how a user would navigate through our system. The wire frame focused on these two overarching goals we had developed through our persona, Linda. With this wire frame, our team would proceed with a round of user testing, and much continued debate about the next steps and changes that we would undoubtably have to make.
